Today, we are continuing our exposition of Titus, and we are still in Titus 1:2. Last time, we talked about the hope of eternal life and first defined what eternal life actually is. Then, we considered the hope of eternal life, Jesus Christ as revealed in the gospel. Today, we will continue with verse 2, which speaks of “the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago.” Our study today will focus on the phrase, “God, who cannot lie.” Jason begins by highlighting the main point or the main reason why Paul included this statement, then he highlights the most important point that this statement makes, and these two are not the same thing. Lastly, the episode concludes by considering the implications for us today.
